With all due respect:

Ah. Now I get it. I agree with you on the war bit. But it sounds like your solution is to raise taxes. Thanks alot. Use the force of government to nail me with even more taxation in order to promote big government programs that you want. If the programs are so good, then they should be voluntary. Don't you feel bad wanting to force me to pay for it? :)

There are still trillions and trillions of unfunded future liabilities that will somehow have to be paid for. I know, I know, raise taxes you say.

Food for thought:
What should we be teaching our children right now?
Should a high school student be taught and EXPECT to have to work hard, study, save, budget, practice delayed gratification, plan for a rainy day, plan for retirement, plan on paying the bills and not living beyond their means

OR

Should that same student EXPECT to muddle along in mediocrity and hope and expect that someone else will be there to catch them when they fall (big government) making it relatively easy to give up and join the crowd of dependent individuals? Oh, and having someone else pay for it .. and having the ability at some point to vote for someone who will give you what you want by taking from someone else... by force. Hmmmmmmmm
