I've heard of hominy and grits too, but I'll be darned if I would recognize either one if they were sitting on a plate. This is one of the reasons I want to travel to the South.............the food has such cute names and everyone knows the BBQ is tops even if they've never tasted. I like Cream of Wheat, and I am thinking Grits and that are similar, but it sounds like grits are made of corn, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out what Cream of Wheat is made of. So the grits are in the cheesecake for thickening, and can you taste them?

Not sure that I've ever seen Grits for sale in a store up here, but I never looked. Guess I'll look in the cereal isle or maybe the baking isle?
