I understand that. My point was that the perception of fairness is important in political contests.

I have suspected, more than once, that some politicians plant false stories or allow leaks of false stories to run rampant. The majority of our society, unfortunately, has a white hat/black hat way of looking at everything. In that context, if the side blamed for the false story is viewed as being bad, what does that make the victim of the false story?

Personally, I suspect the clintons are the masters of that insideous strategy.
