I'm glad their are a lot of people out there with your attitude, Dwight, because I'm an Intel shareholder! Personally, though, count me in to the group that sees the "upgrade cycle" as a victory for american marketers. I'm running a 1993 gateway with a AMD 486-133 ($90) and a couple of 16M sims thrown at it. Stuck win95 on it last year. Works great. I run win95/office/communicator/some graphics and light CAD work/VB development/etc. etc. In other words what 90% of the business world does. What are the "modern applications" that require a PII? Not many of us do quantum mechanical calculations.

I'm not saying don't upgrade... Please do! My kids go to college soon.
