Yes, I confess. I am an engineer. It has been 13 years since my last contract. Each day I remember my purpose is to stay analytical and to help other engineers remain analytical. How I do this is outlined in my 12-step program.

I was never a big fan like you of Stalin's poetry. Too many rhyming couplets ending in bang, which is Georgian for good-bye.
He did have something interesting to say about the Pope, though, but you left that out.

Another of your probable favorites, Lenin, also had a way with words. Funny how those commies were so all well educated, while the fascists of their days were relative dolts. Mind you back then even a fascist like Hitler could still pen a word or two and deliver a rousing speech. Makes our current Little Dictator (apologies to Chaplin) seem even more of a dolt. He's still "undecided" which way to hold My Pet Goat, and Bushisms now overflow into a second volume.

PS - I never read Read Hugh Thomas' masterful "The Spanish Civil War", but Ernest Hemingway penned a fantastic novel set in that timeframe.
By the way, how did it turn out for your commie friends in Spain ? Did Uncle Joe have something amusing to say ?
