My response to the "to do" list from which I quote the following lines:
"Still, can you imagine if the Republican equivalent of James Carville ever said something like this about Mr. Obama:
A Hillary victory in Kentucky will demonstrate to Superdelegates, again, that white working class voters will not vote for Obama - no matter how many circus attractions Obama sends out on his behalf.
Where is the outrage?"
I have a modest proposal. Well, perhaps it is not so modest.
But first, a little recent history.
In NJ not too long ago, the State Democratic Party dumped its Senior Senator Joseph Lieberman and supported a completely inexperienced unknown (I forget his name) as the Party's candidate for election to the US Senate.
Lieberman refused to roll over and play dead. Instead, he started his campaign for reelection as an INDEPENDENT, much to the chagrin of every leader of the Democrat party in NJ, including Hillary Clinton.
Lieberman confounded the Dems--and the nation--by winning, thus establishing himself as a true Independent and a man capable of standing on his own two feet. Lieberman continues to play his winning hand as an Independent, even though he has never left the Democratic Party.
Now for my proposal:
The National Democratic Party is in the process of dumping Hillary Clinton, a long time liberal supporter of the Party and a person of experience in Washington as a Senator, twice elected, from New York by throwing its support to another inexperienced and until lately somewhat unknown candidate by the strange name of Barak Hussien Obama whose primary distinction is that he made an awesome speech at the Democratic Convention in 2004 when Kerry was nominated.
Kerry proved that he was unelectable. Now, Obama is about to prove the same thing all over again.
Once booted by her party, Hillary should follow the amazing example of her mentor, Joe Lieberman. She should declare herself an Independent candidate for the office of President of the USA, transform her campaign accordingly, take her case to the nation, and wait for the national decision---not the Party decision.
The result: Chaos indeed. But a truly exciting time in the politics of the nation. No longer would we have to choose between two individuals dredged up by their Party Leadership. We would be able to decide between:
--a Democratic unknown still wet behind the ears;
--a Republican given but little chance six months ago but battle tested in more ways than one;
--and an Independent, smarting from her rejection by her own and ready to bring her fire-breathing talents into play for a chance at the grand prize that she has always coveted and thought that she had earned.
A few other also-rans will join the battle with the result of a slam-bang election scenario that could make the nation salivate.
WHY NOT HILLARY? GIVE IT A SHOT. LIEBERMAN DID AND LOOK WHERE HE IS NOW. |
