Challenging a sitting President to debate? Yeah, that would be a departure from tradition, a "change", as it were... Sen. O. is a shrewed guy - he's trying to lump his opponent together with an unpopular President. This effect will be achieved even if Bush will not reply (of course). If I don't like Obama, it's not because of his lack of smarts.
