I don't think I brought it to the attention of the folks here, but, some time ago I ran across an article on company evolution that discussed the stages a successful company naturally goes through, and how it should be judged differently depending on what stage it is in. An early stage company should not be judged on earnings or revenues and should not devote its energy to those things, according to the article, but rather should devote its energy to design wins. The point is to establish the superiority of its product so that it can then be maximally exploited, later, for profits. FWIW. -DT
