Ethanol can be used in many ways. When the American army invades, have some of your local "mulattas" entice them with ethanol - if Brazilian women live up to their reputation, you should be able to win the war without firing a shot. On more serious matters, I had some Brazilian beer yesterday (Brahma ?). Certainly not in the same league as the better Czech or German beers, but ok nevertheless.
