The Bush White House owes an apology to the press in general, Rather especially. They basically assassinated him the way they did Plame, career wise that is. And why? Simply because he was putting out a story everyone knew was true anyway and was no big deal. So why did Rove arrange a false flag operation and sting Rather?

Anything to keep the Bush cocaine bust story out of the news.

That's the real reason.
