claim to cherish ??? No offense, but that wouldn't be anything like my claim to be a member of the NRA, would it? Naw, everybody knows I'm a life member. I must be thinking about somebody else. Obama tipped his hand this morning on that. He said he recognizes the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms as an individual right, and in the very next breath he promotes "common sense gun laws." Apparently, Obama does not realize that the 20,000 or so "common sense" gun laws already on the books have had no beneficial effect. And obviously he has not read the Second Amendment because it clearly states "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Bush nominated SCOTUS candidates that defend the Constitution.
