Actually, that's not quite accurate. Substitute "profit margins" for ASPs in the above, and it will be accurate. Intel steadfastly refused to provide either unit volumes or ASPs, so any figures you see which refer to these numbers are guesstimates. It seems safe to conclude that while ASPs are experiencing downward pressure (to compete with AMD/Cyrx), through cost-cutting, Intel has been able to keep CPU gross margins comfortably within historic ranges.
