The comparative future expected returns from purchasing the stock v purchasing the warrants is complicated given the usual option most (US) investors would have of purchasing the stock on margin, thereby increasing the potential expected "return" - negative and positive - from purchasing the stock, whereas I believe (I may be wrong) it is a lot harder to buy the warrants on margin.
