Once again, I must agree. Have you seen the article in Barron's regarding Internet Telephony (ITP)? It's on the VOCLF thread and I printed it to 17 pages! I also believe the future of telecom is ITP. I use VocalTec's Internet Phone every day to talk to my friends overseas for free with great clarity. These telecom behemoths are fighting over the past...out of the top US giants, only WorldCom recognizes that ITP will be a powerhouse and is investing heavily in it...AT&T has elevating its relationship with VOCLF, though. CSCO and CS execs have recently remarked in interviews that the market for upgrading ITP network equipment will surpass growth and importance of ISP capacity buildup over the next few years. CSCO expects $1 billion in sales from ITP alone in 1998. Artificial long-distance tariffs will soon be obsolete as phone-to-phone calls are available to the public much like calling cards, that will be routed to the ITP networks rather than traditional switchboards.
