Here's that Black Forest Cheesecake recipe.

Note .. this was a lot of filling when you add the pie filling in the mixture. So next time I'll use about 3/4 of the mixture in one pan .. and either make a small one as well or some mini cheesecakes because it poofed out of the top of the pan.

Crust:

1/3 cup Butter
1 1/2 cup Oreo crumbs
2 tbsp. Granulated sugar

Melt butter in saucepan. stir in crumbs and sugar. Press into the bottom of 10" springform pan [ a larger one might be the ticket ... like a 12". ] Butter the side of the pan and chill.

Filling:

4 - 8oz of Cream cheese at room temperature
1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 cup heavy or whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Semi-Sweet Chocolate chunks or shaved chocolate
19oz Can of Cherry pie filling use Dark Cherry like Bing if you can find it. About 1/2 in the Filling and the other half as Topping if desired.

Beat sugar and cream cheese together in a mixing bowl. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add cream and vanilla and beat in slowly.

Pour approx 1/2 mixture over chilled crust add some chocolate shavings and swirl in a little of the cherry pie filling. Pour in the rest of the mixture. More chocolate shavings and cherry filling swirled in. Make your unique design. I like the swirl look.

Bake at 325F for approx. 1 hour or until the edge turns lightly brown and starts to rise to the top of the pan. Turn oven down to approx 300 or lower and finish cooking, then run knife around edge to loosen and cool completely.

Toppings: Really Not Necessary .. try it without 1st .. but ..

Spread any leftover pie filling as desired evenly on cooled cake.

Melt 1/3 cup of chocolate chips and drizzle or pipe over filling.

Beat together until stiff:

1 cup whipped cream
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Pipe or spoon around outside edge

Chill. serves 12
