Yes, I know what you mean. I used to have a fear from childhood of being held down. Why I don't know unless it was the times I was tied down as a child to remove some warts on my arm. (I broke those straps struggling and tough luck to them:) I still have a problem with surgery unless I am out. When I had my vitrectomy I told them I would have it done IF they didn't tie down my hand. They promised, and then came in and said we have to put your hand under the sheet, but we won't tie you down. I had to be awake for that surgery so the surgeon could see my eyes react and look into them. It was so bad, one of the other junior surgeons finally took my other hand and just held it in his so that I could be free. I do very well if people keep their promises :)
