A few years ago our church began to have the Blood Mobile come by a couple times a year so we could give blood. I decided to do that. Soon after they had me "plugged" in, I realized I was trapped and couldn't leave. I quickly asked how long this would take and the nurse said about 5 to 7 minutes and asked why I wondered. I explained my fear of being trapped. Two other nurses came over immediately and began asking all kinds of totally unrelated questions, flirted with me and completely took my mind off my perceived problem. Since then, I'm able to give blood about 4 times a year without that problem. It's all in the head. But I have to talk myself into being OK about it.
