"the Federal Reserve will act to support the U.S. dollar from here"

Right, don't worry, no more rate hikes, economy is fine, inflation tame,
everything is cool .....everything's under control .....

------

IMO, the Fed is clueless about what to do. They are just reacting, putting out one fire at a time,

- hoping the derivatives bubble won't blow up anytime soon
- hoping another IB won't have a bank run
- hoping inflation will slow enough before the election it won't have to be reported in CPI
- hoping the apparent "calm on Wall Street" continues
- hoping oil, gold, corn, wheat, rice and every other commodity comes down gently,
- hoping the oil producers don't throw away dollar currency all at once
= hoping ........
