Modern programmers would call this terrible condition: infinite loop and the cure is usually the 3-finger salute (ctl-alt-del). Programmers who write such code ought to be considered criminals! These are the same people who created the horrendous 2YK problem which will cost the world billions of dollars to fix. And they have the temerity to brag about it ... :-)
