Yep, we have a conservative CEO who doesn't like to hype. In an interview in the IBD about a month ago, the CEO stated that royalty revenue will increase by 50% which is already a very impressive number. Well today according to the earnings release, royalty revenue has increased by 73%. Talking about being ultra-conservative...
5) MY EARLIEST PREDICTION FOR 4Q

I think sales of digital cameras will increase throughout the next few years. This Christmas is just the beginning of the digital camera era as price will drop and better resolution will be incorporated in cameras. I think cheap PC will bode well with digital cameras as it can be used for pictures editing and storage. So I don't see a slow down in the next quarter after Christmas season is over.
6) BUY-OUT CANDIDATE?
Is it possible that Intel will not buy Sandisk but will have a stake in Sandisk? I think Intel may be more interested in selling CPU than Flash, so they will do anything to stimulate PC sales. Picture editing is an attractive application for PCs. In the past, Intel has given kind of free loan in terms of equity in companies that help Intel selling their products. Example: stake in MRVC for network switches, stake in XIRC for notebook computer network cards, stake in PTEC for BIOS, ...
8) THE EQUITY OFFERING
A secondary offering may actually help the stock price as the stock gets more coverage by the underwriters. Examples of stocks that rise after secondary offering: PWAV, MRVC, SMOD. |
