The only progressive economy in the region is in Dubai -- who recognizes that their oil reserves will be gone in less than 8 years. I posted here last night some statistics on patents, statistics that reflect a remarkable unwillingness to move forward. It is a simple truth that the religion and values of the region stifle innovation and growth. The focus is on violence. In a year in which over 100,000 books are translated to Spanish, fewer than 400 are translated to Arabic. How do you expect to have progress when women are abused under this archaic Sharia instead of being encouraged to become productive citizens?
