I was walking out to pick up a mallard that I shot and was about 10' from it when it jumped up out of the grass and took off flying straight away from me. I couldn't shoot because it was flying directly at another blind about 70 yards away from me with a guy and his kid in it. Kid however did not have the same fear and I saw him stand and aim my way and I spun and splat took a shot in the back. I was far enough away and with my heavy canvas coat and pants only had a hell of a swat but no penetration. Hurt like hell and I was not happy to say the least.
