Jack, I wouldn't know too much about that (margin and stocks vs. wts.). However, trading through E*Trade doesn't seem to matter at all in respect of margin possibilities: there are margins over the whole scale... Here's another though on volatility WHEN/IF the share price hits $24 and higher: I've chosen to shift some of my holding from shares to wts. First of all because of the higher risk premium -I believe that the risk of us NOT seeing $24 before 2001 as small (to say the least). This arbitrage puts me in a delicate position when I'm forced to choose between selling the wts. or converting to shares. I simply don't have the amount of cash to buy as many shares as I have wts. Result: I will represent a selling pressure on the market. What strategy would I then adopt? I might think that a lot of people are in the same position. In that case, I'd like to find a suitable time for selling the wts. (preferably before everybody else), wait until the others have loaded their wts. out in the market (prices going down, pulling shares with them), and finally buy back as many shares I can (again, before the rest of the pack). I have a hunch (not sure about the spelling of that one) that volatility in the price in the range $22 - 26 will open for possible short-term trading. As you see, my strategy is very un-academic. No theoretical models support the idea, perhaps with the exception of those who try to take into account the psycology of people of my kind. Another note: My socalled strategy won't work if I'm the only one thinking this way! Kim
