Most of the commentators on either side are a lot of hot air, inflated by both a general knowledge and by their own egos. I can't listen to Olbermann, even when I agree with him, or Glen Beck, or Coulter (well, actually sometimes she says clever things, just as Maureen Dowd does). Begala and Carville make my skin crawl.

The whole emotion thing- frankly, you sounds as if you are spouting a strong RW line. RWers think, but LWers are all emotion. That's just silly. I don't think anyone here thinks Obama is a savior. In fact, a lot of the comments have been rather cool assessments of that particular factor. It's seen as a plus for how it can be used to bring people together, inspire youth, etc. But I don't think you'll find anyone fainting at a rally.

As for Bush, many believe he didn't prove effective against the challenges at all; he has made them worse for the next president. And they can argue that quite rationally- AND unemotionally. And many may feel Bush should have stayed a baseball team owner in Texas with no more reason than you have to say Obama belongs teaching law. That's just all partisan crap.
