Whenever a political debate moves off the issues and gets on to personalities, you can be 99% sure nothing useful will get done about it in the long run.

The "strategy" memos I have seen from veteran Republican operatives have focused mostly on how they will define Obama to peel moderates away from him. Nothing about how McCain will achieve his agenda with an increased Democratic majority in Congress.

Since we are stuck with the winner for the next four years, shouldn't we spend some time on just what the winner is likely to accomplish instead of how played toss-the-turd most skillfully?
