That's a tricky one. I would venture to say that most people are not aware of the following alternate meaning for the word "exercised":

to worry; make uneasy; annoy: (ex. to be much exercised about one's health.)

One can be exercised over being called a dipstick, for example.

"Exorcised" ought to be easier for us all, what with The Exorcist being one of the bigger hit movies of all time.
