I hope you're enjoying your little argument with yourself because it isn't one you're having with me. You went off into lala land about 3 posts ago.

But now that you brought up EEC it's a concept which needs to be explored. What exactly is equally efficient? Equally as efficient at doing what? At making uProcessors? Which ones? On which process? Intel can not make AMD processors because it doesn't have AMD's process and AMD can't make Intel's for the same reason. AMD's is bigger, uses a more expensive wafer, a lower yielding process and further hindered by more metal layers. Intel's die is smaller and thus better yielding, their process is inherently better yielding (if we believe Intel's claims) and uses fewer metal layers. So when we talk about a equally efficient competitor, what exactly does that mean? If it was equal to Intel making Intel products then it would be Intel and we could use their cost basis. It can't be Intel making AMD processors because it can't be done. It seems to me that the concept of EEC is perfect for the commodity business but simply doesn't work here.

If you could somehow organize your thoughts into a coherent post it might help stimulate the exchange of ideas. Drop the condescension and don't put words in my mouth. I know it's hard but give it a try.
