It was rehashed. But you might not have read the US Flag Code. When the National Anthem is played, the proper respect to be shown by civilians is to cover their heart with their right hand, until the National Anthem if over. The Military salute, and they know what to do.

So should citizens.

Especially if those citizens are running for the Presidency of the United States.
