I never saw the U.S. Flag Code (4 US Code 1), so I see it is for "men" and not for women. I wonder how many people read it.

When the national anthem is played or sung, citizens should stand at attention and salute at the first note and hold the salute through the last note. The salute is directed to the flag, if displayed, otherwise to the music.

So are we going to throw everyone out of the ballgames?
