There was a Democratic debate or just a comment Obama made where he said that over the past 15 or so years (I think he meant 25 years back to 1981) most of the innovative ideas in Washington (he later said, "I said innovative, I didn't say they were good ideas") came from Republicans. Bill Clinton lit into him for that. Obama was probably trying to show his bi-partisan appeal to independents and some Republicans, which was important in states that allowed crossing over (partially offset by Operation Chaos).

If I got paid $1,000 per posting, it wouldn't be enough.

I try to understand the electorate to understand the economy and how it impacts my life and the products I create and companies I invest in. If something is important, I'll contact Congress or the appropriate Department to see how I could get it done.

It helps to have multiple perspectives.

It's too early IMO to know what issues will be key in the election, other than the money to run an effective campaign. The two parties typically move to the center.

The anti-NAFTA pandering was the low point of the Democratic Party primary. But you have to do what you have to do when you face Ohio and Pennsylvania around the corner and you have an opponent.

Iowa and corn farmer pandering was also ridiculous. When it's down to McCain and Obama and they each have chosen running mates, this will be more in focus.
