Personally, I think we should allow drilling in ANWR....but on one condition: That a significant amount of the revenue (call it a tax if you wish) be directed at a Moon landing type program that begins, in a significant way, to get us off our dependence on foreign oil.

It is a great idea. I believe a "Manhattan Project" or "Moon Landing" approach would be a good way to get there -- producing batteries good for 400 miles in a plain old car. Something like this could transform the problem in a very short period of time.

This would be a totally sensible quid pro quo for the oil cos.

Great idea.
