Its funny how the losing side never has any heroes. You jest! Robert E. Lee is as big a hero as you can get. Stonewall Jackson not far behind in Rockbridge County. And people try desperately to dig up family proof that they're related to Civil War generals- (Southern of course) so they can use it as a middle name for their children. My best friend growing up, Betty Stuart L., traced back to Jeb. And we USED that middle name; she was never just Betty, she was BettyStuart. You can be wealthy, educated and cultured, but if you aren't related to Lee, you will never be at the top of the Southern social ladder.
