Speaking of unintended consequences, keep your eye on the local horse population. People are bailing out the pleasure equine business at an alarming rate. I had two people try to give me horses last week. We would be covered up in "free horses" if word got out that I was fool enough to take them.

What's happening with horses is a real tragedy. One of my employees is "horse affiliated" and she was telling me people [not her] are just abandoning horses. Trailering them in the middle of the night and turning them loose in someone else's pasture.
