Whatever.

The world is producing more food and oil today than at any time in history. The current oil production can be maintained, easily for decades -- during which we will obviously develop alternative fuels that are much better in every respect.

Food shortages here and there are going to happen, and in fact have happened since the beginning of time. It is part of what controls population growth.
