It didn't matter who they chose. Europe was not prepared to go to war with either the Nazis or the Bolsheviks. I am talking about part of Europe between Berlin and Moscow (including the Balkans and Baltics) - after the betrayal by the Western democracies. Betrayal? Because they didn't honor their alliances? Give me a break. Did you see how fast France fell when Germany attacked. And then there was the Battle of Britain. If Japan hadn't attacked the US when it did, we all might be speaking German now........as a first language.
