I also read an article in a local paper yesterday about the Y2k problem. A congressman here in VA (home state of Softworks) said that it would take around $85M to fix the state's computer system for Y2k, and that budgeting and work had to begin very soon. I believe they mentioned October 24 as a deadline for state agencies to submit budget proposals for this problem so they can start working on it in time.

I can get more details if anyone is interested, but the article was kind of general and the above is the major gist of it. (Yes, 'gist' is spelled correctly even if it looks funny! $^)
