I'm not sure that Obama IS really naive about the Middle East.
I heard some of his thoughts on the situation in Lebanon and he sounded pretty sophisticated in his thinking.

At LEAST the guy is known for consulting with others before he makes a move and that's something that has been SORELY lacking with THIS Administration. We have people with 20 years experience studying the Middle East and the Bush Administration didn't even want their input before they went to War. They were planning on the Iraqis throwing flowers at our troops and that's about all they planned for.

The original plan called for attacking in March and having just about all our troops out by the following September. There was NO PLAN.

If talking to Iran is so bad, then how come the Administration has worked SO hard to talk to N. Korea?
