He is going after the subsidies.

I don't get that. Subsidies reduce your cost and your risk but "going after the subsidies" sounds like they're a gift you can just put in your pocket, go home, and put your feet up.

Going after the subsidies to me sounds as silly as going for the tax deduction. You don't do things that don't otherwise make sense just to get the tax deduction.
