I've noticed that people rarely put anything under the seat but go right for the overhead bins. I always used the under-seat unless I'm on the aisle where a normal carry-on doesn't fit.

On my Texas flights, down and back within a week, I always carry on two bags. One, the larger, of course, goes in the overhead; the other, the smaller, goes under the seat in front of me.

No checkins.
