And Democrats won't carry white working class voters in the GE no matter who is elected. But if Obama can turn out a few million new young voters and bring in more suburban independents, he has a winning combination. He also started to define old politics and its useless smearing and distractions last night, but I'd like to see the message get clearer and be repeated so often that the pundits automatically react, "That's a serious charge against Obama, but do you agree with his campaign that these kind of charges represent an 'old' style of campaigning?" The day I hear that, I will know that something fundamental is finally changing.
