German attitude to interest rates ignoring outside factors who drive inflation will in the end bring to a protracted recession in the EU and even a possibility of abandoning the currency by other EU members as national interests and national politics will override the willingness to be in the EUR region with the very stiff mandate for the ECB

The only way out would be to change the ECB mandate and make it similar to the US FED.

Rarely have we seen such lack of sensibility of the German Bankers towards the economic situation in Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Greece and Italy which are 40% of the EUR pact and are in similar situation or worse than the US and for all reason in actual recession. (not to mention Bulgaria and Romania and soon to be Hungary )
