I got an email today from a friend who was quite thrilled with the idea. I replied that I thought Clinton could get more mileage out of the Senate majority leader job. She has such a strong grasp of policy, it would be a shame to waste it. I'm not sure, though, that she couldn't be a good justice. She would likely lose the partisanship when she put on the robe. Different role, and all that, and she has that perfectionism that would likely make her want to be the best justice she could be, not some hack. I agree with you, though, on the inappropriateness of making such a deal.
