I certainly do. While it is fragile, something convinced Sadr to back off and stand aside with their weapons down while Maliki's troops secure the area.

There is no doubt it could fall apart at any instant, but for now, Maliki is doing what needed to be done.

Just as Reagan ended the Cold War through strength, Maliki showing strength and resilience (with support from us) showed Sadr that he needed to reconsider his approach.

Let's just hope it holds.
