BizRadio's MoneyMan Quizzes Jonathan Hoenig on Japanese ETFs -- ITF, JSC and DNL

SUGAR LAND--May 21, 2008--Joining BizRadio's MoneyMan Daniel Frishberg today is Jonathan Hoenig, who with Dan is one of the regulars from FOX's Neil Cavuto show, and is also on FOX News Channel's "Cashin' In" show every Saturday morning. His asset management company is aptly called Capitalist Pig Asset Management so he brings an outspoken attitude to the radio and a "No BS" approach to investments.

Mr. Frishberg asks: "We here in America are entering an environment where Big Government is trying to make all of the decisions -- similar to socialist-leaning Europe of the recent past. People get disenchanted with all this eventually and it probably will come to a difficult end at some point, as it has in Europe where ironically, they are all moving back towards more aggressive capitalism now. But as we enter this leftward phase, what would you suggest that our investor audience do?"

Mr. Hoenig replies: "I guess my first thought is not to make investment an "all or none" decision. I think that too many people are either balls-to-the-wall all-in or they've got everything under the mattress, totally out of the market. So, my first thought is don't make it an all or none decision. I think that you should get in the habit of kind of dribbling money into the markets rather than sloshing it all in over one day or one hour.

"Secondly, there is a tremendous amount of interest in overseas investing right now. You get the calls, I'm sure, all the time. They are interested in traditional emerging markets now, BRIC countries. They're interested in Brazil, Eastern Europe, etc., and Japan is like the old guard that really doesn't get a lot of press, but they have a price action looking quite good. So I am taking a look at some ETFs like ITF, which basically follows big cap Japanese stocks, JSC which is Japanese small cap stocks and DNL, from Wisdom Tree, which is a fund of high yielding value stocks in Japan. It's not my only position, but I think it is one idea that might be a little bit under the radar right now that could hold up quite well in this environment."
