You may recall the several initial waves of homeland security including funding for states and locales which had no threat basis. The power of small states.

I do remember something about that, now that you mention it. A small town in Alaska funded a first class video monitoring system that was completely needless for an homeland security objective. I think it was more the power of the state's delegation rather than the electoral college, however.

I see your point and understand it now, but I stand by my support of the Electoral College.

However, I am puzzled by your response to my sarcastic comment about freedom in cities.

You mean that you like the security and/or convenience of the cities? Even if it means giving up your freedoms? See, that's what I can't handle. I would rather sleep on the ground in the wilderness where bears and wolves prowl than walk down the streets of a big city at night. For example, I spent the night under this tree, which is five miles from the nearest road last summer, and felt perfectly safe. Pay no attention to the message on the sign, unless you believe in ghosts.

That's the moon in the second photo. It was a full moon the night of the murder, 145 years ago. I guess it's what we're used to, huh!

This photo shows bear scratches in the bark. The bear was leaving notice that he was the biggest bear in the woods.
