Not often. The candidates concentrate their efforts on the big electoral prizes. That's where the votes are.

Allen, the candidates spend most of their time in the swing states. Whether its a large or a small one. They have to have an electoral strategy, decide what their map to 270 is, and go to the states that will get them there.
