All that is probably true, but I don't think we will be in a big rush to get a new car....The manufacturers aren't set yet on what to do, the new technologies aren't ready yet, we don't know what the price of electricity will be for the electric cars, etc.

On the other hand, the way the prices are going up, up and up....the lack of people buying, driving to places, and everything that means, will definitely cause much hardship for many in the US and therefore the rest of the world.

Who thinks about the US being one of the largest purchasers of "stuff" from the newly emerging countries. WHAT IF we just stopped buying all that "stuff"....what would those countries do to feed their people, if they can't sell their goods?

Our own jobs will become harder to find. And certainly harder to get to.

I can see a time in the near future that either Congress get themselves collectively together, or there will be serious clashes in the streets. Not only here in the US, but certainly in the rest of the world.

Obama is starting to make even some of my liberal friends very upset. He is a "pie is getting smaller" kind of guy.

But really if we all put our energy to solving the problems we face, we can create a pie that is ever expanding for everyone.

If we don't, people around the world, including us, will starve.
