Mission Accomplished:

The invasion of the iraq and the ensuing rise of the oil prices vastly increased the revenues of oil producers within and also outside the US. Particularly Russia has a large windfall of that, and is able to service and repay its debts.
Money is still the best painkiller and so the demands of oil producing regimes are reduced...

In that, the real economic costs of the iraqi war could be actually zero.
The collateral damage of suffering US consumers can be mitigated through government checks and other subsidies...
