Suma,

<<Florida voters say they will not vote for Obama. This is
representative of the Florida Jewish population which is huge.>>

Just wondering if there was a poll that looked at this or is this just your impression.

<<I think it has to do with his stand on Israel... or lack of support as they interpret talking to the enemy would be...>>

I don't think this is true. I think Obama's position on Israel has been pretty supportive and I don't find a tremendous difference between his position and the other candidates.

I think where you are mistaken is that you underestimate the damage that was done to Obama by his association with Wright, the church and its association with Farakhan. Any association with an antisemite like Farakhan, no matter how nebulous it appears to people outside of the religion, can be looked at very differently depending on what your life experiences are. My father, who survived the concentration camps in WW II while most of his family didn't, would take a look at this and it would be very hard for him to look past this point.

I am sure someone will say that Obama doesn't need this state or that state but then you start to sound like you are looking at Dale's scenario trying to win with 50.x% of the population and the inherent problems that has been proposed trying to govern in that type of scenario.

As he has been said to be the candidate of change and bringing something different to the political scene, it would be nice to see if he could get the situations turned around with the voting groups he is said to have trouble with in the democratic party instead of trying to win with a fractured party.
