But what is this culture they're betraying by joining these (white) institutions? African American culture is emotionally bonded to African ancestry. People of other races and former countries, probably came here of their own accord, so it was easier to build a new life and move on. American blacks didn't make this decision, so residual defiance still exists. * * *
